Editorial Reviews

The following are some of the editorial reviews from the Nonfiction Book Awards:

  • The perfect title for an excellent book. The author’s attention and passion to bring out the pros and cons in situations gives the reader a complete story. Love at first sight is romantic and we all have that thought. However, let’s be realistic, it’s a process. The things that made one fall in love with someone at times can be the same things that annoy us. Bringing these couples together, Ms. Childs has both sides speak out. It’s better to air out the problem. That is what makes her book interesting and an excellent learning tool. It shows others in the same situation that there is a road back.
  • Interesting early sections with reference to couples and the toxic place the home becomes. The men/women differences outlined give the reader some thoughts on their own beliefs, although it is clear that the author is a woman.
  • I found her dedication to this subject an inspiration to those who may have asked the same question in their own relationship.
  • The dramatic descriptions of clients reliving their childhood abuse are chilling, and the dating examples are a sobering look at online dating! Lots of references to the impact on children (and pets) in the household. Anne and David were the best examples of the process and underlying concepts put forward in the book making it more accessible for the reader. An interesting book that draws on real situations that everyone can recognize and understand.
